DDA Partners With Clayton Area Ministries for CAM SLAM Food Drive During Christmas Village & Tree Lighting – Dec 1

The Clayton Downtown Development Association, Inc. is partnering with the CAM SLAM Food Drive to benefit Clayton Area Ministries during the 2011 Clayton Christmas Village & Tree Lighting. There will be CAM SLAM containers at Horne Square and Town Square to receive cans of non-perishable goods during the event.

Richard Rairigh, CDDA President, said, “Local food banks are struggling to provide food to those in need, and this an opportunity for the community to help.”

Some of the specific items needed included: Bakery items, Biscuit/Pancake Mix. Syrup, Canned Fruit, Canned/Bottled Fruit Juice, Canned/Dry Soup, Canned Meat or Fish, Canned Vegetables, Cereal, Coffee, Tea, Complete Meal Kits, Crackers

Lorraine Perri, one of the events co-chairs, noted that, “With more than 4,000 people coming into downtown on December 1, if just half of them brought a can to CAM SLAM, that would help serve a tremendous need.”

Clayton Area Ministries is located at 704 E Main Street in Clayton and is open Monday through Friday from 1 pm – 3 pm.
