Clayton Visual Arts Artist Reception Event Details

A reception honoring student and adult artists whose work will hang in the Clayton Center during January will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at the center. It is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Cash awards and certificates will be presented to student winners as part of the annual Woman’s Club of Clayton Clubwomen and Student Art Festival. About 75 students from two middle and four high schools in Johnston County have entered.

Clayton Piano Festival - Jonathan Levin, "Romantic Fantasies" Event Details

Jonathan Levin gives the opening concert of CPF. The program explores the genre of the Fantasy as envisioned by Schumann, Chopin and Liszt and seeks to reveal some of the hidden meanings behind them.

It is the mission of CPF to bring outstanding concert pianists from throughout the country to the Clayton community in order to perform concerts and participate in other musically enriching events throughout the community. Through interactive presentations in local schools, public classes for local piano students, and commentary with the concert performances, CPF aims to bridge the gap between performer and audience, bringing great music to people of all ages and levels of exposure. The Clayton Piano Festival is a non-profit arts organization devoted to cultivating interest and attention to classical piano music and music education in Clayton, NC and the surrounding communities.

Angelo Rondello works with local students in a public masterclass and talks about life as a musician and career paths available to aspiring young musicians.
